Dominated by expressionist tensions, Florin Mihai connects his expressive fervor with a clearly figurative and epic structure, which amplifies, in all its details, the impact of the communication. In his narrative apparatus both man and horse fulfill, alternately, their distinct destinies, but their true symbolic destiny is together, in the merged image of the mounted knight. The artist permanently strives for an imposition of humanity, of all rational values and ideals, in a „crusade” that a man of our time fights in the territories threatened by regression and chaos. In the visual space which contains the act of lucidity, the colors, engaged by the same energies that set the forms in motion, are tensed between warm and cold fluxes. The drawing is restless, incisive, underlining the chromatics and contributing to the intensity of the epic, dramatic images.
